What a nod or a shake of the head conveys in a face-to-face conversation can be replicated in Threema with the agree/disagree feature. Sometimes, however, a “thumbs up” or “thumbs down” isn’t enough to express how we feel about a message. That’s where the new emoji reactions come in.
The beloved agree/disagree feature gets a major update: starting with Threema 5.8.1 for Android and Threema 6.6.1 for iOS, emoji reactions allow you to not only agree or disagree with a message but to express any reaction you may have.
Reacting to a message couldn’t be easier:
Android and iOS: First, tap and hold the relevant message. Then, select one of the suggested emojis, or tap the “+” icon on the right to bring up the emoji picker, where you can select any other emoji.
Threema 2.0 for desktop (beta): Right-click the relevant message to open the context menu. There, select one of the suggested emojis, or click the “+” icon on the right to bring up the emoji picker, where you can select any other emoji.
You can react to a message with any number of emojis, and you always have the option to remove them if you change your mind. To learn who has reacted with which emoji, simply tap and hold any emoji reaction.
Let the emoji extravaganza begin:
