Why do you need cloud security? In this presentation, Tom F. Hofmann illustrates the extent to which our daily communication runs via the cloud and shows what consequences arise if the usual communication channels suddenly stop working. Using real-life examples, he will provide fascinating insights into past cyberattacks and throw light on the hackers responsible for them.

Tom F. Hofmann

Tom F. Hofmann is a cybersecurity enthusiast with a passion for human-centered design and innovation. For the last 20 years, he implemented projects around the world, from the Finnish polar circle to the megacity of Tokyo.
He is an experienced CISO and DPO, with a focus on critical infrastructure and government. Tom founded his own company acting as a CISO-as-a-service, providing threat intelligence and awareness services.
He shares his knowledge as lecturer in various programs at the University of Zurich and University of Applied Sciences and Arts Northwestern Switzerland and book author. Besides his professional engagements, he participates in various pro-bono activities and supports NGOs and social organizations on the topics of data privacy and cybersecurity.
Tom conducted his master thesis research at the Hasso-Plattner Institute, Germany, and holds a CAS in Data Privacy from the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences, Switzerland, and an Executive Diploma in IT Business Management from University of St. Gallen, Switzerland.
